We have the latest state of the art electrostatic powder coating equipment in our new purpose-built facility, which has the capacity to powder coat items as big as 6000mm x 3000mm x 1500mm.
We can do everything from large batch quantities to one-off pieces in an almost limitless range of colours and textures.
1. Pre-Treatment
All surfaces are cleaned to remove grease, grime and residue and then given a phosphate wash. This improves the corrosion protection and offers the best adhesion. After a final rinse the item(s) are heated in our drying oven so that they are bone dry for colour application.
2. Colouring
The surfaces are coated with a uniform layer of your chosen colour using a process called electrostatic spray deposition. Our spray guns apply an electrostatic charge to the powder which is the attracted to the metal surfaces.
3. Curing
The item(s) are heated in the curing oven at temperatures up to 200 C for 20 minutes. This causes the powder to chemically react, forming a higher molecular weight crosslinked polymer that seals the colour in place and creates a durable uniform finish that will last for years to come.
Durable
Apart from corrosion resistance, powder coated surfaces are resistant to scratches, fading, chips and dings making them ideal for use across a variety of industries, indoors or outdoors no matter the weather.
Fast
You don’t have to wait days for it to dry, Unlike with conventional liquid paint finishing. Once the curing process is finished, your items are ready to go.
Environmentally Friendly
Powder coatings contain no solvents and release little to no amount of volatile organic compounds into the atmosphere when compared to conventional liquid paint finishing.
